Application

Surface Preparation Steel surfaces shall be abrasive-blasted to the specified cleanliness and profile for the confirmed coating system, typically near-white metal for severe service. Remove oil, salts, dust, mill scale, rust, and spent abrasive before coating, and apply before flash rusting or contamination occurs.
Application Environment Apply with application temperature 5-40 deg C; substrate temperature at least 3 deg C above the dew point; adequate ventilation.
Application Method Apply mainly by airless spray or conventional spray using equipment suitable for zinc-rich primers. Keep the mixed material agitated to prevent zinc settling, apply the recommended dry film thickness of approx.45microns, and follow confirmed mixing, thinning, pot-life, and recoating requirements.

Storage and Delivery

Packaging 24:6
Safety Confirm substrate condition, compatibility, mixing ratio and application environment before large-area work. Protect from freezing, rain, contamination and direct exposure before the film is fully dry. Do not use material that has exceeded its pot life or has gelled after mixing. Store sealed in a cool, dry and ventilated place and dispose of waste according to local regulations.

Product FAQ

Can I request the current TDS and SDS for Inorganic Zinc-Rich Primer?

Yes. Contact the Qilu Paints export team with the product name, destination country, substrate, coating system, and application environment to confirm current TDS/SDS, packaging, and export requirements.

How should Inorganic Zinc-Rich Primer be selected for an export project?

Confirm substrate preparation, exposure environment, target durability, compatible primer/intermediate/topcoat, destination-market documentation, and dangerous-goods classification before quotation or shipment.

What should be checked before applying Inorganic Zinc-Rich Primer?

Check surface cleanliness, surface profile, ambient temperature, substrate temperature, dew point, relative humidity, ventilation, mixing requirements, and recoat interval before application.

How should Inorganic Zinc-Rich Primer be mixed and applied?

Stir thoroughly before use. For multi-component products, mix base and curing agent according to the current TDS, observe induction time and pot life, and only thin with the recommended thinner.

How should unopened Inorganic Zinc-Rich Primer be stored?

Store in sealed original containers in a cool, dry, ventilated place away from heat, sparks, and direct sunlight. Confirm shelf life and packaging with the current TDS/SDS before shipment.

What safety precautions are required during application?

Use suitable PPE, provide ventilation, keep away from ignition sources, and follow the current SDS for handling, fire protection, first aid, and waste disposal.
