Epoxy Iron Red Primer (2K)
Description
Epoxy Iron Red Primer (2-component) is formulated with epoxy resin, iron oxide red, anti-rust pigments, and solvents. When using, add an epoxy curing agent in proportion. It is suitable for anti-corrosion and rust prevention on steel surfaces and as a primer for the outer walls of oil tanks and storage tanks. It can also be used as a primer for bridges, ship hulls, and industrial and mining vehicles with high rust prevention requirements.
Best For

| Application Method | 1. Surface Preparation: For steel with mill scale: Sandblasting to Sa2.5 grade. For steel without mill scale: Sandblasting to Sa2.5 grade or grinding with an elastic grinding wheel to St3 grade. For steel coated with shop primer: Sweeping sandblasting or grinding with an elastic grinding wheel to St3 grade. 2. Application Conditions: The substrate temperature must be at least 3℃ higher than the dew point temperature. The relative humidity should not exceed 85%. If the outdoor temperature is below 0℃, the epoxy curing agent’s reaction stops, and construction is not recommended. 3. Coating Method: Thinner: Epoxy thinner (for both airless and air spraying). Thinning ratio: 0 - 15%. Nozzle diameter: 0.4 - 0.5mm (for airless spraying); 2.0 - 3.0mm (for air spraying). Spray pressure: 15 - 17Mpa (approximately 150 - 170Kg/cm² for airless spraying); 0.3 - 0.6Mpa (approximately 3 - 6Kg/cm² for air spraying). Cleaning agent: Epoxy thinner. 4. Recommended Number of Coating Passes One pass of airless spraying with a dry film thickness of 60 - 80um. For brushing or rolling, 2 - 3 passes are required. 5. Coating Interval At a substrate temperature of 5℃, the minimum interval is 48 hours; at 20℃, it is 24 hours; at 30℃, it is 16 hours. The maximum intervals are 14 days at 5℃, 7 days at 20℃, and 5 days at 30℃. 6. Subsequent Coating Options: Polyurethane topcoat, epoxy topcoat, epoxy micaceous iron intermediate coat, etc. |
