Dust, oily residue, rust stains and wind-blown particles all have the same practical effect: they leave less clean glass for sunlight to pass through. The module may be working normally, but a dirty surface can still drag down output and add extra cleaning work for the O&M team.
Regular washing is still part of the job. The difficulty is that washing depends on labor, water, weather windows and site access. A functional coating does not remove those realities, but it can make the glass surface easier to manage between cleaning cycles.
What the Coating Is Trying to Do
